Rich has over 20 years of experience in product development, manufacturing quality, and process improvement. He has spent over 2,000 hours training 250 Six Sigma Black and Green Belts. Rich’s clients include CalOptima, B Braun, NAS Medical, and Advanced Sterilization Products. Prior to joining VCI, he was manager of Six Sigma Education at ACC Capital Holdings, Director of Six Sigma Implementation at Johnson & Johnson, and a Principal Scientist with Johnson & Johnson. Rich holds an MBA from University College at the University of Maryland and a BS in Biology from the University of Oregon. He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds five patents.
Sung has over 20 years of experience in new product development, operations, and marketing. Sung’s notable clients include Fannie Mae, Baxter Healthcare, Northrop Grumman, IBM, and L-3 Communications. Prior to cofounding VCI, Sung was VP of Consulting Services at Citigroup, Executive Director of R&D at Johnson & Johnson, Principal at PRTM, and Director of Marketing at Motorola. Sung holds an MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA, as well as MS and BS degrees in materials science from the University of Washington. He is a certified Project Management Professional, Production and Inventory Manager, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Sung holds seven patents, has written 32 journal papers and two book chapters bear his name.
Tony has over 20 years of business experience in the areas of R&D, Operations, Business Development, and Quality Assurance. Tony’s notable clients include Fannie Mae, Baxter Healthcare, Covidien, Cardinal Health, and Knowledge Advisors. Prior to VCI, Tony was Senior Vice President at Citigroup, Executive Director of Design Excellence at Johnson & Johnson, Surgical Energy Systems Group Leader at Pfizer Inc., and Senior Engineer at Allergan. Tony holds an MS in Physics from the University of California at Irvine, a BS in Electrical Engineering, and BS in Physics from Santa Clara University. He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and holds six patents.
Dan has over thirty-five years of progressively responsible and diversified technical and management experience for major medical device and pharmaceutical companies. His range of experience includes design, development, and validation of new products/processes including sterilization systems, biological/chemical indicators and disinfection products. Dan has also prepared 510(k) filing documents and frequently interfaced directly with FDA staff to gain clearance for new or modified products. He is an active member of the AAMI committees dealing with material compatibility and biological indicators. He has published numerous articles on sterilization related topics with several patents issued. Dan holds degrees in both microbiology and mechanical engineering.
Dan has over 20 years of experience in economic modeling, financial analysis, and project management. Dan’s notable clients include Pacira Pharmaceuticals, Bank of America, and Fannie Mae. Prior to consulting, Dan held project management and financial modeling positions with GE Capital and Citigroup. Dan holds a BS in Accounting from University of South Alabama and an MBA (Finance) from Pepperdine University. Dan is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

Prior to consulting, Dan held engineering leadership positions with Advanced Sterilization Products, MetroLine Industries, and Technion. Dan holds a BS in Physics from Santa Clara University, an MS in Physics from University of California-Irvine, and an MBA from Pepperdine University. Dan is a holder of four patents and is a certified Six Sigma expert.
Dave has over 35 years of experience with both private and publicly traded companies, ranging from semiconductors to capital equipment. Dave’s specialization includes financial controls (namely, cash management), financial reporting as well as budgeting/forecasting and implementation of procedures and processes. Formerly CFO for Helisy, Corporate Controller for a division of Motorola, and VP of Administration and Controller for Tulon, Dave holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Denver and an MA in Management from the University of Redlands.
Jim combines his 30 years of experience in finance, economics, statistics, data management, pricing, and marketing to develop and operationalize business intelligence systems without reliance on IT staff or PhD statisticians. Jim’s notable clients include JP Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, People’s Bank, McKinsey, and Pfizer. Prior to consulting, Jim held analyst and executive positions with AT&T, US Sprint, and Summit Analytics. He holds a BA, an MA and an ABD in Economics from the University of New York at Stony Brook.

Jason has 14 years of experience in banking, insurance & technology covering financial auditing, financial controls, IS security, risk management, and regulatory compliance, including Sarbanes-Oxley. John has over 17 years of business experience in Marketing, Business Development, Process Improvement and Project Management. John has held various leadership and management positions at Johnson & Johnson/Neutrogena, Obagi Medical Products, and High Growth Consulting. He holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University, and an Economics degree from the University of California at San Diego. He is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt in New Product Design Excellence and an expert in change management.
Bob has over 25 years of experience in research, development, process improvement, and operations. He is an accomplished scientist with more than 16 issued patents and 24 patents in application, and 30 publications. Bob’s notable clients include Pacira Pharmaceuticals, Advanced Sterilization Products, and Covidien. Bob holds a PhD in Plasma Physics from University of California-Irvine.
Sandeep has deep expertise in corporate strategy, product development, and operations. His notable clients include Advanced Sterilization Products, Northrop Grumman, and L-3 Communications. Sandeep holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from UCLA. He is a Certified Production and Inventory Manager (CPIM).
Steve has over 20 years of experience in investment portfolio management, risk management, capital planning, liquidity/cash management, and reporting/analytics. Steve has been particularly effective as a catalyst to bridge the communication between IT, accounting, and operations. Steve’s notable clients include Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, General Motors, and JP Morgan Chase. Prior to consulting, Steve held a wide range of leadership positions, including CFO and CIO, for a number of leading financial services firms and credit unions. Steve holds a BS in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Finance and Management, from Kansas State University.
